Timothy John Myers, 55, of Fort Scott, Kan., died 7:56 a.m. Monday July 8, 2013 at his home following an illness.

Tim was born Sept. 3, 1957 in Fort Scott, Kan., the son Raymond (Short) and Marilyn (McQuity) Myers. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Fort Scott High School. On Sept. 25, 1993, Tim married Debby Nighswonger in Hammond, Kan.; she survives at the home. Tim worked for CNF Farms for the last 18 years as a Foreman.

Tim was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Scott, Kan.; in his free time he enjoyed camping, farming, fishing, hunting, cold beer, smoking meat and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, children Leah Myers of Fort Scott, Kan., Marci Myers of Fort Scott, Kan., Brandy Hunziker of Arcadia, Kan., Amber Hunziker of Fort Scott, Kan., and Ryan Hunziker and wife Amber of Fort Scott, Kan.; grandchildren Brooklyn Meech, Brandt Meech, Jasmine Floyd, Darius Lucas, Dylan Lucas, Riley Hunziker, Cadence Hunziker, Camrie Hunziker, Kiptyn Hunziker and Keatyn Hunziker; siblings Randa (Jerry) Parrish of Hennessey, Okla., Cindi (David) Lipe of Fort Scott, Kan., Virginia (Jerry) Watts of Nevada, Mo., David (Jo) Myers of Bronson, Kan., Peggy (Perry) Bloesser of Nevada, Mo., and Nellie (Rex) Lipscomb of Fort Scott, Kan.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be 11a.m. Friday July 12, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Fort Scott, Kan., with Rev. Dr. Kenton Van officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Hammond Community Center in Hammond, Kan., In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Mercy Hospice and/or Sharing Bucket in care of UMB Bank in Fort Scott, Kan. Cremation arrangements are by Midland Cremation Society of Joplin, Mo.
