Emma Lea Hall

Emma Lea Hall, age 83, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died unexpectedly Monday, July 1, 2013, at the Mercy Hospital Emergency Room in Fort Scott. She was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Cedar County, Mo., the daughter of James Harris and Jessie Ellen Ford Harris. She married Hershel Leon Hall on February 28, 1948, in Harrison, Ark. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 2000. Emma had worked for Key Industries for 32 years where she worked as the supervisor in the cutting department. Emma also enjoyed quilting. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her four children, Ronny Hall and wife, Carol of Ellsworth, Kan., Joyce Collier and husband, Gene, Calvin Hall, and Kathy Hays and husband, Frank, all of Fort Scott; 11 grandchildren, Daryl Hall, Mike Hall, Christie Hay, Jeff Hall, Tim Hall, Troy Collier, Ryan Collier, Kyle Collier, Misty Hall, Heather Lord and Josh Hays; and 20 grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Katherine Rector, Greenfield, Mo. and Sue Hoskins and husband, David, Fort Scott. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Billie Hall and three brothers, John, Leroy and David Harris.

Rev. Scott Moore will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6 at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
