Tiger JV sweeps Labette County

Fort Scott High's junior varsity softball team swept Labette County Monday at Fisher Park's south field.

The Tigers took the first game 5-3. Emily Bowman, Kyle Brown and Tanner Wunderly each had 3 hits and Wunderly drove in 3 runs as she hit 2 doubles.

Brown allowed 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5.

Fort Scott needed only 3 innings to win the secondgame 12-2 after scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the first.

Meghan Guss held the Grizzlies to 2 hits. She didn't walk anyone and struck out 3.

Brown and Camrien Defebaugh had 2 hits each. Abi Keating drove in 3 runs while Defebaugh and Wunderly had 2 RBI each.

The Tigers had just 7 hits but were patient enough to draw 13 walks in just two innings.

The Tiger junior varsity will be at home Thursday against Paola. The games will be held at Fisher Park's south field at the same time as the varsity doubleheader with Paola at Don Hewett Field (4:30 p.m.).
