MOUND CITY -- Jayhawk-Linn swept a Three Rivers League doubleheader from Uniontown here Friday evening, winning the opener 2-1 and taking the nightcap 11-2.

Eagle pitcher Taylor Wade (4-2) was hit by a line drive during the second game.

"The game started out well," Uniontown head coach Paula Coyan said. "The team got down after the injury and didn't rebound well. We had some mental errors and it cost us the game."

Wade struck out 3 batters in the opener. No batting statistics were provided from either game.

The Eagles played at home against Marmaton Valley in a TRL doubleheader Monday. Information from those games were not available at press time.

Uniontown will play at Hume, Mo., for a non-league doubleheader on Thursday.

BASEBALL -- The Eagle baseball team also played Friday at Jayhawk-Linn and Monday against Marmaton Valley. Results from those games also did not reach the Tribune prior to press time Monday night. Like the softball team, the Uniontown baseball squad is scheduled to play at Hume on Thursday. Start time has not been announced for those games.
