Eagle girls drop Pleasanton, 59-48

UNIONTOWN -- Uniontown's girls outscored Pleasanton 17-3 in the third quarter here Friday night and held on to stun the Blu-Jays, 59-48, giving the visitors just their third loss of the season.

"Our sheer tenacity put us in a position to upset a very good Pleasanton team," Uniontown head coach Dustin Miller said.

DaNisha Robinson scored 24 points to lead the Eagles. Hayden Rathbun added 15 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and handed out 7 assists.

Uniontown (3-2 TRL, 7-10 overall) led 27-16 at the half. Pleasanton (3-2, 12-3) got back within 36-34 after three.

Both the girls and boys host Altoona-Midway tonight in Three Rivers League play. Neither Midway team has won a game this season.
