Virginia May (Huston) Johnston, 83, died Jan 28, 2013, in Omaha.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roy B. Johnston of Bellevue, Neb., and three sons and daughters-in-law: Mark and Anne Johnston of Stevenson Ranch,Calif.; Michael Johnston and Bonnie Landrum of St. Paul, Minn., and Dan and Suzanne Johnston of La Crescenta, Calif. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Sarah and Elizabeth of Stevenson Ranch, Calif.; Andrew, William, and Emma of St. Paul, Minn.; Katie and Emily of La Crescenta, Calif.

A native of Fort Scott, Kan., Virginia attended Fort Scott Community College before completing her bachelor of arts degree in religious education and music from Phillips University in Enid, Okla. She married the love of her life, Roy B. Johnston, in August of 1948. The wife of an Air Force chaplain, Virginia led a busy life of service to many churches as an educator, musician and choir director, and to numerous charitable organizations as a volunteer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Virginia's name to either The First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be Friday Feb. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, Bellevue, Neb.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday Feb 2, at 11 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, Bellevue, Neb.

Burial will be Monday Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Scott National Cemetery.

Bellevue Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
