ERIE -- Uniontown head girls' coach Dustin Miller said his team came out "flat" here Friday night in a 34-23 loss to Erie in a non-league contest.

The boys' teams also played but a result was not available to the Tribune in time to meed Friday night's deadline.

The girls trailed 9-5 after one period. Only 5 total points were scored in the second as Erie went into the locker room with an 11-8 lead.

Each matched their first-half total in the third quarter but Erie increased the margin to 22-16.

"Emotionally we came out flat," Miller said. "We made a couple of runs, but Erie always had an answer. Our defense played well. Unfortunately we can't seem to buy a basket."

DaNisha Robinson led Uniontown (2-5) with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Hayden Rathbun scored 5 points and grabbed 6 boards. No other Eagle had more than 4 points.

Cleaver led Erie with 17 points, half the Devils' output.

Uniontown's teams will face Oswego at the West Bourbon Elementary gymnasium Tuesday night in a Three Rivers League doubleheader. Oswego's boys (2-4) defeated Jayhawk-Linn Friday night, 51-35, while the girls (3-3) fell to the Jayhawks, 38-29.
