Jack and Pauline Scott

Jack and Pauline Scott of Fort Scott will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary at the Carriage House at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Carriage House, 301 Main St., Fort Scott.

They were married Dec. 21, 1947, at Cherokee, Kan.. Jack served with the Fourth Marine Division in the South Pacific during World War II. Jack was the principal of Burlington High School and later county clerk during construction and compeletion at Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Station.

Pauline taught country school and served in the Coffey County District Court. Pauline retired in 1986 and Jack in 1989.

They have three grown children: Jack G. and Phyllis of Bolivar, Mo., Deborah and Charles Rhynerson of rural route La Cygne, Kan., David and Anita of Laramie, Wyo. The Scotts have three grandchildren, Kaysie, Robert and Matthew.

Jack and Pauline give thanks, especially to their family and friends who have made those 65 years a wonderful experience.
