Moses Martinous, 94, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, after a short illness.

He was born in Pittsburg, Kan., on Aug. 5, 1918, to Farris and Stenna Coury Martinous.

He was the owner of Martinous Foods in Joplin, Mo., and had retired in 1985, but still remained active in the produce field.

Moses was an assistant with the Joplin High School Band and became the oldest man to march the full seven- mile parade route at the Rose Bowl parade.

Moses was a man of faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Kathleen, two sons Ray Martinous of Pittsburg, Kan., Richard and wife Robin of Joplin, Mo., one daughter Diane Martinous of North Hollywood, Calif., one brother Raymond Martinous of Frontenac, Kan., one sister Freda Wilson of Pittsburg, Kan., and two grandchildren Moses and Shannon Martinous.

According to his wishes Moses has been taken for cremation. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Mason-Woodard Funeral Home in Joplin, Mo.
