Firefighters inspect this Mini Cooper after it was involved in an accident approximately .1 miles south of Birch Road on U.S. 69 South at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday. Bourbon County Undersheriff Bill Martin said Danny Gillum of Unionville, Mo., was operating a semi-trailer traveling north on U.S. 69 and the Mini, operated by Ora Roberts of Arma, was southbound. The left rear dual tires from the tractor-trailer, which had just picked up a load of dog food in Frontenac, came off the truck and struck Roberts' vehicle, Martin said. Both drivers refused medical treatment, Martin said. (Scott Nuzum/Tribune)
