Bourbon County 4-Hers place well at State Fair
Results from the Kansas State Fair at Hutchinson showed Bourbon County:

Four-H items held for display only, and not for judging at the Kansas State Fair were 4-H visual arts: Kendall Madison, Northeast Scott 4-H; Dalton McDonald, Pawnee 4-H; Kole Wagner, Barnstormers 4-H; and Caden Webb, Pawnee 4-H. Banners exhibited were Northeast Scott 4-H Club, Pawnee 4-H Club and Uniontown 4-H Club.
Photography chosen for special awards:
Kelcie Bailey, Pawnee 4-H Club was selected for the Sunflower Award for outstanding elements of composition with her digital composite image photo. Kiran Bailey, Pawnee 4-H Club had a photo selected for the Rock Springs 4-H Center display. Dawson Minor, Northeast Scott 4-H, had a photo chosen for 4-H Foundation use in publications. His photo was also selected for the Washington, D.C., display, to be used in the offices of the Kansas senators and representatives. Kole Wagner, Barstormers 4-H had a photo selected for the Photo Traveling Collection.
Those participation in the Intermediate Family and Consumer Science Judging Contest and placing 28th of 64 teams were Kaitlyn Hanks, Kendall Madison, Hayley Readinger, and Matthew Readinger
Southwind District-Fort Scott placing in the horse show was Hannah Hughes, Northeast Scott 4-H,
Placings for the livestock show at the Kansas State Fair are as follows:
Kendall Madison, of the Northeast Scott 4-H, was fifth and seventh in her classes of dark crossbred market hogs and sixth in her class of AOB gilts. Lauren Madison, of the Northeast Scott 4-H Club, placed eighth with her dark crossbred market hog and ninth with her light crossbred. Danielle Nading, Uniontown 4-H, was second and fifth in class with her commercial breeding gilts and seventh in a York gilt class. Torrie Hathaway, Uniontown 4-H, was second in her class of commercial breeding gilts.
Madelyn Ard, Uniontown 4-H, stood sixth in her class of meat goats.
Kaitlyn Hanks, Barnstormers 4-H, stood first and third in her commercial ewe lamb classes, eighth in her class of crossbred market lambs and 10th in her class of Hampshire market lambs.
