Uniontown Ruritan Club holds annual senior citizens dinner

Uniontown Ruritan Club held its annual senior citizens dinner June 20 with about 50 seniors present.

The meeting was held in the commons area at the Uniontown High School facility. Vice President Lawrence "Bugs" George called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. He welcomed the guests.

Song leader Dale Jackson led the group in singing "America." Kenneth Middleton gave the invocation. Secretary Raymond "Skeet" George thanked the committee members who helped put together the function and their wives who assisted in baking cakes and desserts. A delicious meal of fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad, ice cream and cake was enjoyed by all.

Secretary George called the roll with nine members present. Entertainment was provided by Loriquetta Warren. She sang "America the Beautiful" without accompaniment.

The meeting was dismissed with the flag salute.
