Seven teams participated in the Corporate Olympics, held April 14-25 by Buck Run Community Center.

Recreation Director Tom Robertson said the competition has been conducted for close to 10 years.

The contest serves as a fundraiser for a local charity. This year, about $500 was raised, after expenses, for Relay for Life, Robertson said.

Everything from Texas Hold 'Em tournaments to a 5K run and trivia games were among the contests held.

Team results were: Ward/Kraft, first, 334 points; Fort Scott Community College, 332; and Peerless, 331.

In other results, the Citizens Bank/UMB team earned 220 points; Carlisle, 191; Mercy, 301; and city of Fort Scott, 139.

Ward/Kraft men's team came in first with 184 points; Mercy's men's team got 140 points; FSCC's women's team came in first with 149 points; and Peerless' women's team got second with 141 points.

Plaques were presented for first and second in the men's category, first and second in the women's category and first and second in the team category. Seven teams took part.

"It was nice to have seven," Robertson said. "It's just nice seeing the participation. It's a lot of fun."
