Page for a day

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

State Rep. Caryn Tyson, R-Parker, welcomed Fort Scott Senior Lyle Brittan to the Kansas Statehouse. Brittan visited the state capitol in Topeka to serve as page for the day in the Kansas House of Representatives. Lyle is the son of Bill and Michele Brittan of Fort Scott, Kan. After graduating from Fort Scott High School, Brittan plans to study medicine and continue pursuing his interest in government. "It was a pleasure to have Lyle serve as a legislative page," said Tyson. "I'm thrilled he took the time to travel to Topeka to spend time helping the Kansas House. He did a wonderful job and I hope he returns for another visit." While serving as a House page, Brittan had the opportunity to meet with Gov. Sam Brownback and have his picture taken with him. Pages assist elected officials and staff by running errands, putting together mailings and other necessary duties.
