Red Cross sets blood drive in Fort Scott

The American Red cross will be holding a blood drive April 17 and 18 at Fort Scott Community College Student Union, 2108 S. Horton.

Hours on Tuesday will be 12:45 p.m.-7 p.m. and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday. All presenting donors will receive a free T-shirt. Pulled pork sandwiches will be served.

Prospective donors can call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org for more information or to make an appointment. All blood types are needed to ensure the Red Cross maintains an adequate blood supply. A blood donor card or driver's license and two other forms of ID are required at check in.

Donors must be in general good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 with completed parental consent form). New height and weight restrictions apply to those 18 and younger.
