FRONTENAC, Kan. -- Uniontown's Trenton Miller won the discus at the Frontenac Invitational here Thursday and the Eagles won eight medals overall.

Miller was credited with a distance of 128 feet, 10 inches in discus. He also finished fifth in the shot put.

Abby Dixon won two medals for Uniontown's girls as she finished second in discus and third in shot put. Kelli Wilkinson also picked up two medals as she took fourth in the 3,200 meters and fifth in the 1,600. Danisha Robinson was sixth in shot and Jana Wilkinson was sixth in the 1,600.

"Our returning athletes had times and distances close to where they finished last season," Uniontown head coach Jackie Hall said. "Our young athletes really got a taste of some good competition and turned in some good marks but didn't place in the top six."

The Eagles were scheduled to begin the season last Tuesday at Oswego but that was canceled due to inclement weather. The varsity will be idle until April 16 when they will be at Burlington for a meet hosted by Waverly.
