Bourbon County Clerk files for reelection

Incumbent Bourbon County Clerk Joanne Long has filed to run for reelection, a news release said.

Long is approaching 20 years of service with the county clerk's office. She currently serves as the Kansas County Clerks' and Election Officials' Association vice president and is on the executive board that helps plan the organization's annual conference.

Long is also a member of the association's legislative committee that deals with legislation pertinent to the association. Democrat Evelyn Taylor, Garland, previously filed for the same position.

Filing deadlne for all offices is noon, Friday, June 1. Offices up for election this year are: Second District County Commissioner; Third District County Commissioner; County Clerk; County Treasurer; Register of Deeds; County Attorney; Sheriff; all township treasurers and trustees; and Republican and Democratic committeepersons.
