Red Cross to hold blood drive in Fort Scott

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Dec. 21 and 22 at the Scottish Rite Temple, 110 S. Main.

Hours Dec. 21 will be 12:45 p.m.-7 p.m. and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 22.

All presenting donors will receive a free long-sleeved T-shirt.

All blood types are needed to help maintain a sufficient blood supply, especially O negative, a universal blood type, a news release said.

A blood donor card or driver's license and two other forms of ID are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are generally in good health may be eligible to give blood.
