Fort Scott Police Department detectives arrested two juvenile males, age 14 and 15, in connection with five home burglaries that took place in Fort Scott between September and November.

One juvenile is from Bronaugh, Mo., and the other is from Fort Scott. The two were arrested Nov. 22.

FSPD Lt. Shaun West said the five incidents took place at five locations throughout the city. West said various items were stolen, some of which police have already recovered.

"It's varied; it's a fair list of property," he said.

FSPD Lt. Travis Shelton said property that has been recovered includes computers, jewelry, electronics and guns. A majority of the thefts took place in the afternoon hours between September and November of this year.

Shelton said there have been reports filed with the Office of the Bourbon County Attorney and some reports related to those cases of burglary are expected to be filed in the future.

According to the county attorney's office, both juveniles have been charged with burglary, theft and criminal damage.

The juveniles were transported to the Southeast Kansas Juvenile Detention Center in Girard to be held until their first court appearance, a news release said.

The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, the release said.
