Starlite F.C.E. plans Fall Follies

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

The October Starlite Family and Consumer Education meeting was held at Cavalry Crossing on Oct. 21 with 32 members and guests present.

Nancy Schuster from Anderson County presented the program "Vitamin D -- Sunshine to Supplement." Vitamin D is unique among vitamins because it is made in the human body when skin is exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light in the sun's rays. Very few foods have Vitamin D.

After the program, a business meeting was held upstairs with 11 members present. Ten volunteer hours were reported.

The September minutes and treasurer's reports were read. The October birthday ladies are Joyce Gobl and Clarice Russell.

The club is assisting with the Red Cross Blood Mobile by supplying cookies and helping in the canteen.

The Fall Follies will be held Nov. 15 at the First Southern Baptist Church at 5:15.

The first program, "Fall Fiesta," will be presented at 5:30 p.m.

The second program will be Linda Wilson giving a demonstration of paper piecing.

Both Starlite F.C.E. and Thursday Nite Live F.C.E. members will be in attendance.

The public is welcome and urged to attend as this will be a fun evening with refreshments furnished by the F.C.E. ladies.
