GARNETT -- Fort Scott High School's golf season came to an end at the Anderson County Class 4A Regional Tournament here Monday. The Tigers finished sixth out of eight teams and did not have any individual qualifiers for the Class 4A State Tournament.

"The girls are already making plans to get together and keep practicing for next year," Fort Scott head coach Karen Curran said. "They've learned so much about the game and now it's time to keep looking and moving forward. They've absolutely fallen in love with the game and want to continue to improve and get better for next year."

The Tigers shot 496 as a team. Karley Stark (52 front nine-62 back) and Morgan Robertson (62-52) each shot 114. Laine Parks finished at 62-59--121, Natalie Wolf 74-73--147 and Hayden Shelden at 75-75--150.

"Laine had a really good day overall and Karley and Morgan each had a good nine," Curran said. "I saw a lot of great strokes from Natalie and Hayden, but they just struggled with consistency throughout the day.

Each member of the top three teams and the five best individuals on non-qualifying teams advanced to the Class 4A State Tournament, which will be held Monday at the Topeka Country Club.

Spring Hill won the team title at 380. Anderson County, second at 391, and Girard, 392, also qualified their full teams.

Timbrelee McNair of Girard (38-41) won a playoff over Spring Hill's Lindsey Mateer (39-40) for the individual title after tying at 79.
