Aikins, Miller event winners for Eagles

NEODESHA, Kan. -- Uniontown's track teams competed in a large meet here Thursday that Eagle head coach Jackie Hall said gave her team a look at some of the competition they'll be facing when they to go the Douglass Class 3A Regional Meet in May.

Emily Aikins won two events and three medals for the Eagle girls. She claimed the 100-meter dash in 13.0 seconds and the 200 meters in 27.9. She also took third in long jump.

Other girls' results saw Rachel Henderson take third in the 3,200-meter run and fourth in the 1,600 and Abby Dixon took fifth in discus and sixth in shot put.

Trenton Miller claimed one of the boys' two medals when he won discus with a throw of 126 feet, 3 inches. Carter Wood took third in high jump.

The Eagles will go to Iola Thursday for the Crest Invitational.
