Eagle baseball splits TRL twinbill with Indians
BRONSON -- Uniontown's baseball team split with Oswego in hits first home doubleheader at Dawson Field here Monday. The Eagles claimed game one by a 7-0 score while Oswego took the second game of the Three Rivers League twinbill, 18-4.
The Eagles (1-1, 1-4) hit three home runs in the opener. Senior Tyler Hall belted a pair of 2-run shots, one in the first inning and one in the second. Ty Clayton hit a solo shot to center in the fifth. Clayton also had a double while Hall finished with 5 runs batted in.
Senior Jake Dawson (1-2) hurled a complete game, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7.
The Eagles committed 7 errors in the second game and Oswego scored 17 times in the top of the fifth inning.
Jordan Woods (0-1) allowed only 3 hits and struck out 7 while only 5 of the 9 runs charged to him were earned.
At the plate, Max Labbe and Garrett Murrow were each 2 for 2.
This was the Indians' first victory of the season.
Uniontown travels to Jayhawk-Linn Friday afternoon for a non-league doubleheader which begins at 4:30 p.m.
