Making their mark

For the second year Nevada High School graduating seniors have been given the opportunity to leave something of themselves behind on the walls of the high school building. Ranea Schulze said the students are encouraged to leave a hand print and some school-appropriate design that shows something personal about themselves. Schulze said they will use the block wall around the auditorium for the designs. The 2010 senior's designs are on the east side of the hallway. Schulze said that she got the idea from Pittsburg (Kan.) High School.

Stephen Parker paints a red and black Ford Mustang on his block for the 2011 Senior Wall at Nevada High School. The Mustang caught fire and burned a couple of weeks ago. Parker, who was in the car when it caught fire, escaped unharmed.
Ashley McKinley paints a tennis ball on her Senior Wall display. McKinley played on the girls' tennis team for four years.
