Saturday, March 5, 2011

Fort Scott, Kan. -- Sixth District Judge Mark Ward, right, presents Bourbon County District Court Clerk Karen Paddock, left, with a certificate of appreciation from the Kansas Supreme Court Friday morning. Paddock retired Friday after nearly 31 years in the office. She began working as a deputy clerk in October 1980, then was appointed clerk in 1988. Paddock will be replaced by Rhonda Cole, who has worked in the court clerk's office since June 2006. Paddock said Cole's journey has come full circle because she worked as a file clerk when she was in high school and will now take over as Bourbon County District Court Clerk on Monday.
