Program to focus on strength training for adults

A public program to encourage strength training for adults will be offered on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 5:30 -- 6:30 p.m. at Buck Run Community Center meeting room.

Presenter will be Joy Purkeypile, Kansas State University Extension Family and Consumer Sciences agent in Linn County.

Adults, regardless of age, can benefit from doing strength training exercises. The program will focus on starting a strength training program, equipment and the importance of consulting a health professional before starting. Attendees will learn some simple exercises that require no special equipment.

The event will also provide an opportunity for anyone to pick up a Walk Kansas registration packet for the 10th annual fitness program which starts March 13.
