City commission meeting rescheduled again

Thursday, January 27, 2011

After being rescheduled once already, the upcoming meeting of the Fort Scott City Commission has been moved again.

The meeting was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 1, however, there was a conflict. Mayor Dick Hedges, Commissioner Jim Adams, Fort Scott City Manager Dave Martin and Assistant City Manager Susan Brown will be attending the City Hall Day at the Capitol in Topeka.

The event does not begin until Feb. 2, but they are leaving Tuesday evening.

As a result the meeting was moved to 6 p.m. Jan. 31, however, yet another conflict arose.

According to Fort Scott City Clerk Diane Clay, the city's charter ordinance states that the commission must meet at least twice each month.

If the meeting were held on Monday, there would only be one meeting in February.

In light of the second conflict, the meeting has been changed back to Tuesday, but it will begin at 9 a.m. The gathering will be held at City Hall, 123 S. Main.
