Grief support group starts

Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, a not-for-profit agency serving Bourbon County and 13 other counties in Southeast Kansas, is partnering with Cheney Witt Funeral Home to host Companions in Grief, a monthly support group.

The first session is from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Cheney Witt Carriage House in Fort Scott.

The group will meet on the third Thursday. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one is encouraged to attend. Claudia Smith, social worker for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, is the facilitator.
