Commodity prices continue unexpected run

The prices farmers and ranchers get for the products they sell have always been a complex issue. Economists, USDA, government agencies, agri-businesses, etc. have for many years attempted to predict, maneuver, hold up, hold down, increase, decrease, etc. these markets to better serve the economic conditions at hand. At the same time, the goal of the government agencies is generally to stabilize the "farming" business and prevent losing bunches of our proficient farm operators during the "bad" times due to the, at times, wildly fluctuating markets or weather conditions.
