Train involved in Friday crash

A vehicular crash occurred Friday evening on 1200 County Road, three miles west of Nevada. The incident took place when a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Joe C. Rippetoe, Nevada, failed to yield and was struck by a General Electric Model C44 train operated by W.E. Jarrett, Carthage, Mo.

Jarrett was reported to have no injuries. Rippetoe received minor injuries and was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center.
