Uniontown 4-H meets, elects new officers

The September meeting of the Uniontown 4-H club was called to order by President Holli Mason. Thirteen members answered roll call by telling their "favorite school subject."

Jana and Kelli Wilkinson led the pledges. Caitlin Jackson, club secretary, read the minutes of the August meeting. Amber Bartlett gave the treasurers report and Cole George gave the reporters report. Drew George and Seth Bartlett reported on the council meeting.

During the leaders report, members were thanked for the clubs great attendance of the Friends of 4-H Dinner. Reed Gleason, Chase Gleason, Cole George, and Drew George were recognized for their accomplishments at the Kansas State Livestock Sweepstakes held in Manhattan, Kan.

Enrollment forms for the 2010-2011 4-H years were handed out and are due back to the leader at the October meeting.

In new business, the club decided to attend church together to celebrate National 4-H week the first Sunday in October. After services, the members will enjoy a cookout at the park in Uniontown.

New officers were selected for the 2010-2011 4-H year. President is Reed Gleason, Vice President is Drew George, Secretary is Caitlin Jackson, Treasurer is Chase Gleason, Reporter is Cole George, Council Representatives are Drew George and Caitlin Jackson, Historian is Seth Bartlett and Mathew Harelerode, Recreation is Jana Wilkinson and Medelynn Ard, Song leader is Daniel Nading and Clayton Nading, and Parliamentarian is Kelli Wilkinson.

Kelli Wilkinson led the members in a game of "Simon Says" for recreation.

Refreshments were served by the Gleason and Nading families.
