FSCC Livestock Judging Team receives top honors

Submitted photo Members of the Fort Scott Community College's Livestock Judging Team received top honors at the teams latest competition in Eldorado.

Fort Scott Community College's Livestock Judging Team received top honors at the team's latest competition. The Livestock Judging Team finished in first place overall at the 2010 Flint Hills Classic Tournament in El Dorado. They competed against more than 500 other individuals compromising more than 20 teams.

The team also placed as the high team in Swine and Cattle Judging, surpassing more than 20 other teams to take the title. FSCC's own Becca Stokes was the high individual overall, second in Cattle, third in Swine and was eighth in Reasons. Hunter Shoemaker placed as the high individual in Swine and was the sixth overall. Troy Sloan and Blake Nickle placed eighth and 10th as individuals overall, respectively.

Dillon Brock and Bryce Brummet finished strong in the freshmen division, Brock placing fifth in Cattle and Brummet placing fifth in Swine.

FSCC Instructor, James Thompson, coaches the FSCC Livestock Judging Team.
