Saturday, August 14, 2010

The Nevada City Council will be receiving the city's 2009 annual audit from DSWA Audit Firm during a special council meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, as well as holding a public hearing and considering a special ordinance setting the 2010 tax levy.

The meeting, originally scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m., was moved to Monday because of conflicting with the annual Meet the Players activities at Nevada High School.

Also on the agenda is the presentation of a resolution by Rep. Barney Fisher to the Nevada Fire Department recognizing its 125th anniversary.

Other issues on the agenda include the first reading of two ordinances to get the Moss House a $23,003 emergency shelter grant from the Missouri Family Support Division; an ordinance approving an agreement with Vernon County and the Vernon County Assessor for property assessment services; Resolution No. 1299, adopting the Nevada Revitalization Award to recognize property owners for improvements; Resolution No. 1300 approving a package liquor license for Tim's Convenience Store and an Resolution No. 1301 approving travel expenses for Council member Sherry Steward, City Manager JD Kehrman and City Clerk Annette Crews to attend the annual Missouri Municipal League Convention in St. Charles.

The council will also be holding the second readings of ordinances to reauthorize the city's financial disclosure policy and an ordinance approving a settlement agreement with T-mobile.
