DOLORES EVELYN "LORIE" WELLS

Dolores Evelyn "Lorie" Wells, age 56, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott.

She was born Jan. 21, 1954, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Kenneth Earl Wells and Ruth Fidelia Culler Wells.

Lorie never knew a stranger and was known for her upbeat personality.

She enjoyed doing puzzles, coloring and collecting bears.

She was a member of the Cross Road Church.

Survivors include her mother, Ruth Wells of Fort Scott; two brothers, Steven Wells and wife, Patsy, Arma, Kansas and Dwayne Wells, Fort Scott; two sisters, Faith Varner and husband, Steven and Kathy Wells, all of Fort Scott.

Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Wells and a brother Warren Wells.

Pastor Brad Friesen will conduct graveside services at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Deerfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 9:30 Friday morning at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Cross Road Church Mission Fund or the Fort Scott Manor and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
