The Fort Scott Community College Baseball program has announced that sophomores Brandon Davis and Tyler Spear have signed scholarship offers with NCAA Division I universites.

Davis, a catcher from Highlands Ranch, Colo., signed with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He will join fellow Greyhound baseball alumni Jason Houston and Kelson Boyer on the Trojan baseball team.

Davis batted .358, had 7 doubles, a triple, one home run, and was 8 for 8 in stolen bases. As the Greyhounds' primary catcher, he threw out over 40 percent of base stealers this year.

Spear, a left-handed pitcher from Bethany, Okla., signed with Niagara University in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Spear led the Greyhounds in several pitching statistics including: innings pitched (71), wins (6), starts (12), complete games (4), and strikeouts (55).

"Brandon and Tyler have achieved their dream of signing an NCAA D-I scholarship," Fort Scott head coach John Hill III said. "We are very proud of this achievement, but we are more proud of the young men both have become. They have done a great job of representing our program, the school, and the community in their years of attending Fort Scott Community College. They are both great baseball players, but are also great students and most importantly, great people. We look forward to following their careers in school, baseball, and life."
