UMB Bank recently donated $5,000 to two area organizations and one local elementary school. The bank donated $4,000 to the Youth Activities Team to pay for a pavilion featuring the UMB Bank company name and logo that will be part of the development of Ellis Park, a $4 million project coordinated by YAT that will include the addition of a walking trail, basketball courts, batting cages, a miniature golf course, baseball diamonds, and other improvements to the existing park. The bank also donated $500 to Mother to Mother Ministries, a local organization that works to help meet the varied needs of single mothers in Bourbon County and to help area families with parenting responsibilities, to help with the agency's mission. Eugene Ware Elementary School received $500 to start a new Community Closet program at the school, a special fund that will allow for the purchase of clothes for needy area children. Donated funds came from the federal Community Reinvestment Act, bank officials said.
