A line of people circled the inside of the First Christian Church's activities building Friday. The crowd was there to pick up back to school essentials provided by several area agencies including West Central Community Action Agency, Community Outreach, several health care providers and even the Nevada Police Department. According to Barbara Long, Community Outreach director, more than 350 children from Head Start up to seniors in high school registered for the event. Above, State Representative Barney Fisher wipes the ink off the hands of a child who has just been fingerprinted. The parent is given the sheet with the fingerprints so if the child goes missing they will have them available to help police find them. --Steve Moyer/Herald-Tribune
