Palmer recognized for perfect attendance

Shirley Palmer, 4th District State Representative, was recognized July 7th for achieving perfect attendance during the 2009 legislative session. In total, 59 of 125 members in the House of Representatives achieved this distinction. In addition Representative Palmer also maintained a perfect voting record this session.

"Shirley Palmer demonstrated outstanding commitment during the 2009 legislative session," said House Democratic Leader Paul Davis, Lawrence. "In a citizen legislature, lawmakers have families, jobs and other obligations in addition to their legislative work. The attendance and voting records are a reflection of their devotion to Kansas communities." This is the third year in a row that Representative Palmer has maintained a perfect attendance record.

In addition, Shirley Palmer maintained a 100 percent voting record, casting 306 out of 306 votes. The Kansas House of Representatives cast 306 recorded votes over the 90 days of the 2009 session. Lawmakers introduced 746 pieces of legislation between both chambers, with a total of 144 bills becoming law.
