History Day teams conducting fundraiser
History Day teams from Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Christian Heights will conduct a fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the Heritage Park Pavilion near the corner of First and Main streets. The event will take place in conjunction with the Friday night concert series. For $5, patrons will be able to purchase a dinner that includes a hamburger or hot dog, homemade potato salad, cookies, chips and a beverage. A car wash will also be available for a free will donation. All proceeds will benefit local History Day teams who will be traveling to Washington, D.C., June 13-19 to compete at the National History Day event. Last month, three FSHS students and 10 FSCH students competed in the State History Day competition and won the right to participate in the national event. Tickets for the fundraiser are available by calling the Lowell Milken Center at (620) 223-9991.
