GARY LEONARD JONES

Gary Leonard Jones, age 66, resident of Pleasanton, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, May 10, 2009, at Fort Scott Manor in Fort Scott, Kan.

Gary was born March 10, 1943, in Fort Scott, the son of Archie and Cleo Wood Jones.

He married Veronica L. Abrego April 24, 1965.

Gary retired from the U. S. Navy and then worked as a diesel mechanic and retired from Shock Truck Leasing.

He was a member of the V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife of the home, three sons: Troy D. Jones and wife Michalea, Shawnee, Kan.; Gary Jones and wife Valerie, Garden City, Mo.; and Joseph E. Jones, Pleasanton, Kan.; and one daughter: Janice M. Jones, Mound City, Kan.; three brothers: Vince Jones, Bucyrus, Kan.; Kevin Jones, San Francisco, Calif.; and Wendell Jones and wife Sandra, Pleasanton, Kan.; two sisters: Sharon Kenocke and husband Jerry and Roxy West and husband Ed, all of Bucyrus, Kan.; and four grandchildren: Andrew, Kayle, Gary Brandon, and Bradley Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in the Cheney Witt Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Clarksburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
