Fort Scott High School student Christian Sellers (left) tops a baked potato with shredded cheese on Monday night during the FSHS Music Department Potato Feed. About 500 people came out to support the music department by purchasing potatoes during the event. While event attendees were eating, they were entertained by musical numbers performed by the band, orchestra and choir students from the FSHS music department. Also on Monday night, the high school band, orchestra and full orchestra performed for area residents in the new Danny and Willla Ellis Family Fine Arts Center. On Tuesday night, the Fort Scott Middle School band and orchestra students performed a concert for area residents at FSMS. On Thursday night, the FSMS choir will be performing at FSMS at 7 p.m. Event joint-organizer James Fox said he was pleased with the turnout of local residents at the potato feed on Monday night. "It was well attended, and the patrons seemed to enjoy the musical entertainment at the potato feed," Fox said. (Rayma Silvers/Tribune photo)
