DORIS LEE "DORI" ROBINSON
Doris Lee "Dori" Robinson, 79, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, in Denton, Texas, surrounded by her family.
She was born Doris Lee Mock, Sept. 12, 1929, in Kansas City, Mo., daughter of George Edward and Corrine Frances Hale Mock.
She was a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School in 1947, and St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1950.
She was married to Alvin Ray "Robbie" Robinson in 1951. They were married for 55 years.
They moved to Fort Scott in 1952. She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. James Basham, the Fort Scott Public Health Department and then for Dr. Michael (Mike) McKenna for more than 20 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Scott, for more than 50 years.
Dori and Robbie loved to travel and share the experience with others. They included many young people in their adventures from New York to Hawaii. Dori was chief cook, nurse, and mother for all. She spent her life nurturing and caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her brother George Edward Mock Jr.; her parents; and her husband Robbie. She leaves three daughters, Beth Ann Black and husband Brad, of Libby, Mont., Dianna Robinson, of Denton, Texas, and Louann Hanson and husband Danny of Lawrence, Kan., and one son Joseph Edward Robinson, of Fort Scott; two brothers, Edward Mock and wife Pat and Gary Mock and wife Willie, all of Gravois Mills, Mo.; three granddaughters, Natalie Steinel of Philadelphia, Grace Steinel, of Denton, Texas, and Cara Ann Black, of Libby, and three grandsons: Seth and Gabe Black and Josh Hanson and his wife Megan, all of Denver; and one great grandson Zachary Taylor Sciarrotta of Libby.
Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church in FOrt Scott.
