Tiger Pride Marching Band brings home honors

On Saturday, Oct. 11, the Nevada High School Tiger Pride Marching Band competed in the Broken Arrow, Okla., Invitational. Thirty bands from several states competed in three class categories. Nevada placed first in its class and also won top honors for best musical and best visual performance in that class. Above, drum majors, left to right, Wesley Coffer, Michael Collins and Michele Geeding display the three trophies won by the band. The band is directed by Tom and Amanda Meyer. The band is competing on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Ozarko Invitational Music Festival at Missouri State University in Springfield. The final marching competition for the year will take place at the University of Missouri on Nov. 1.--submitted photo
