Poets of inspiration

Fifth graders from Eugene Ware Elementary, West Bourbon Elementary and Winfield Scott Elementary participated in the Gordon Parks Poetry Contest this year. The contest was open to all area fifth-grade students to write poems about diversity in their lives. Twelve students were chosen as the winners of the contest and were invited to come to the FSCC campus to attend a pizza party with FSCC President Dr. Clayton Tatro. Other guests at the lunch included teachers and administrators from the student's schools, and Gordon Parks' children; Toni and David Parks.
