FSCC Homecoming begins Sept. 29

Fort Scott Community College's 2008 Homecoming celebration will start Sept. 29 and continue through Oct. 4. Activities will include attendees participating in the Pioneer Harvest parade at 6 p.m. Thursday.

On Sept. 29, FSCC will host a Guitar Hero tournament from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the FSCC cafeteria. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the college will host a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the FSCC cafeteria, 2108 S. Horton St.

FSCC students will attend a pep assembly at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in Arnold Arena. Homecoming candidates will be announced during the gathering and students will also have a chance to vote for the homecoming king and queen.

After the assembly, students will enjoy an outdoor cookout. There will be a tailgate party for FSCC staff and students before the homecoming football game at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Fort Scott High School parking lot, 1005 S. Main St. FSCC sophomore football team members will be honored before the game, which will feature FSCC versus Independence Community College.

The coronation of the homecoming king and queen will occur at half-time of the game.
