Senior citizens enjoy dance Memorial Day

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

The senior citizens had a nice evening at the Buck Run Community Center. The gym was closed to the public and had no interference or action other than our dance. The parking was great and all went well. It had cleared up and several came from Pittsburg and Nevada.

Jim and Joan Feighner came from Yates Center. He has played with the band for years. He plays at a restaurant in Burlington and is unable to come and join us at a regular time. He sings and plays a wild guitar that we all enjoy. We wish that he could join us more often.

Ethel McCormick was back dancing tonight. She and several friends came from Nevada. She has had both knees replaced and is doing well.

Glenda Bassett from Fort Scott was a first time guest tonight. She enjoyed the dancing and we hope she will be back.

Bob and Sheryl Reyolds from Chanute were back. They do some fancy dancing and love to join in any of the dances. They hadn't been there for sometime.

We had a good number doing the line dance. There is always a new one or two that take part. We had another dance after break and it is good to see them do their best.

There were just a few doing the "Put Your Little Foot" step but maybe more will try next time. We have a "Chair Dance" and most every one joins in that.

There will be a dance, Tuesday night, at the Senior Center in Pittsburg, starting at 7 p.m. There will also be a dance at Cadmus, Friday night starting at 7 p.m.
