Pleasanton sweeps Three Rivers League championships

OSWEGO, Kan. -- Pleasanton's track teams dominated the Three Rivers League Relays here Thursday. Blu-Jay boys scored 193 points to finish nearly 90 points ahead of runner-up Crest. The girls scored 169 points and finished 63 ahead of runner-up Uniontown.

Uniontown's boys finished tied for third place with Southern Coffey County with 76 points. Results from Uniontown were not received by the Herald-Tribune in time for this edition.

Blu-Jay boys won seven events and 31 medals. The girls won six events and 26 medals.

Chris Duggins and Danny McCullough led the boys as each won two events. Duggins took shot put with a mark of 41 feet, 10 inches and discus with a mark of 117' 4". McCullough took triple jump at 40' 0 1/4" and pole vault, clearing 12 feet.

Alex Richmond won the 400 meters in 53.3 seconds. Two relay teams won as well. The 4x100 team with Dakota Kerns, David Sowards, McCullough and Richmond won in 44.8 seconds. The 4x800 team of Gage Harris, Kelly Wadel, Dennis Moore and Travis Bradley won in 9:23.5.

Megan Allen was also a double winner for Pleasanton's girls. She won the 100-meter dash in 13.3 seconds and triple jump at 32' 3".

Cheyanne Reynolds won javelin with a throw of 95' 8". Rachel Richmond took high jump at 4' 10". And Brytnee Streeter, Carlee Campbell, Richmond and Allen combined to win the 4x100 relay in 53.8 seconds.

Pleasanton will host a Class 2A Regional Meet Friday.
