HIGHLAND -- Fort Scott Community College's men dropped their fourth straight decision here Wednesday night, falling to Highland, 81-76, in Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division play.

The Scotties (1-1 in the East, 4-9 overall) basically took the contest by bombarding the basket from three-point range. Highland connected on 15 of 30 long-distance shots with freshman Chris Combs going five of six, sophomore Jewel Carter going four of five and frosh Tyler Nordman hitting four of six from triple territory.

Ironically, the Greyhounds (0-2, 5-9) made a season-high four three pointers. For the season, however, they've made only three more threes (18 of 85) than Highland made in this game.

Arsenio Williams started this game after coming off the bench Saturday at Coffeyville and led the Greyhounds with 24 points. Brandon Kinnie added 16 points and also led on the boards with eight rebounds. Kyle Grant finished with 13 points as he made three of five three-point shots.

Fort Scott shot 45 percent from the floor, making 27 of 60 field-goal attempts. Highland shot 49 percent overall on 28 of 57.

The statistics sent to the Tribune by the Highland athletic department did not break down the game into halves, so it's not known exactly how the game played out other than the raw stats. There are also some stats you will see in the box score above that need to be taken with a grain of salt, such as Fort Scott getting credit for just one assist and two steals.

The Greyhounds will host Independence Saturday afternoon in their first home conference game. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Arnold Arena.

NOTES -- Fort Scott's previous season best for three-pointers was three against Casper at the Colby Ambassador Classic on Nov. 10, a 67-62 loss....
