PEGGY GOOD

Margaret "Peggy" Boyle Good, 84, died at her home in rural Fort Scott, Kansas, Dec. 31, 2007.

She was born on the family farm at Boyle, Kan., Feb. 6, 1923, to her parents Charles Grant Boyle, farmer and lay preacher, and Grace Elizabeth Irwin Boyle. Her mother died 18 months after her birth and she was raised and cared in her early years by her mother's cousin, Scott and Louise Spencer. Later, she was raised by her father, aunts and uncles, and then during high school, by two older sisters; Dorothy and Marjorie.

She attended the University of Kansas, where she met her husband James T. Good, and they were married in Lawrence, Kan., Oct. 4, 1942. She joined her husband in St. Louis, Mo., where he attended medical school at Washington University, and she completed her training in medical technology at the same school, and worked at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. When motherhood arrived, she devoted her life to her five children and her husband. Her Christian faith was enhanced by membership in the First Christian Church and Diamond Community Church.

Survivors, who mourn the loss of her unconditional love, include her husband Jim, sons; Jim, Jr. and wife Jan, and son Mathew, Mike, and wife Debbie and sons Jonathan and Danny, Steve, and son Benjamin, Tom, and daughter; Mary Ann. She will meet two grandsons in heaven; David and Spenser. Also surviving are two sisters; Marjorie Heter and Marian Wallace, along with numerous nieces and nephews. One sister, Dorothy Hoak, preceded her in death.

She will be remembered as a gentle, caring and loving wife, mother, and friend who believed in 'Faith, Hope and Love.'

The Rev. Reed Hartford conducted funeral services for Peggy at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Boyle, Kan., following cremation. Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
