Jessica Ellen Arens, 17, of Fort Scott, died early Saturday evening, October 13, 2007. She was born August 3, 1990, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Dana Daniel and Alpha Louise (Culbertson) Arens.

She was a junior at Fort Scott High School, where she took automotive classes and was a member of F.F.A. She attended the First United Methodist Church and the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. She liked to hunt and fish, loved art, animals and her truck. She was thoughtful and caring, and always made everyone smile.

Jessica is survived by her mother and step-father, Alpha and Rick Bohlken of the home, her father and step-mother, Dana and Lexi Arens of Garland, Ks., maternal grandparents, Ben and Nettie Culbertson of Fort Scott, paternal grandparents, Alvin and Sharron Arens of Norfolk, Nebraska, her sister, Danielle Arens of the home, 4 step sisters, Mindy Brunet, Anna Blackburn, Amara Kincheloe and Ieisha Kincheloe, 2 step brothers, Jason Bohlken and Gabe Kincheloe, 6 aunts, 8 uncles and 39 cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the Uniontown Cemetery. The family will receive from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, October 17, 2007, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
